Full metal alchemist review
Since
Full Metal Alchemist is rather new, it has not yet been able to claim
it's place as the number one anime of all time.
Though I write this review, to bring it even closer to its goal.
ANIMATION: Visually Full Metal Alchemist is at the top of its range, this
especially considers their highly decorative and detailed backgrounds as well as
the rich coloring in each and every scene. Not to mention that all characters
have original concepts and are highly detailed.
Yet one of the few things that bother about this anime, are the stupid faces that
characters pull to show emotions.
Even if pulling stupid faces to show emotions is one of the many traditions that
the Japanese have in their anime, Full Metal Alchemist still overuses this
gimmick far too inappropriately and totally discomforts and often ruins the mood
of the scene/episode.
MUSIC:
The opening and closing themes in
Full Metal alchemist are ranged from horrible to catchy, though don't let this
put you off, as the in-show melodies are always catchy and appropriate towards
each scene.
STYLE: All characters are unique in their own way, and each has the power to
hook you onto the show, yet there are those who are very important to the
development of the show that the viewer never really gets the chance to know
more about.
STORY: Awesome
storyline that always leaves you asking for more. The producers directed the
show extremely well and each piece is timed perfectly, the only downfall is the
Scooby-Doo like plot in the first dozen episodes of the town-savior being a
secretive villain and the constant abuse of flashbacks.
OVERALL:
THE NEGATIVES:
-The use or overuse of expressing emotions via stupid facial expressions.
-Lack of quality opening/closing themes.
-Tendency to play out the "Scooby-Doo" plot in the first dozen episodes.
THE POSITIVES:
-Extremely rich and detailed backgrounds and character coloring.
-Original and attractive character concepts and design.
-Catchy in-show themes and music.
-Greatly written and produced storyline, with perfect timing.
OVERALL: Full Metal Alchemist is easily the greatest anime that I have ever
experienced and despite its flaws, the show progresses so dramatically in each
area that it has the ability to hook you onto it and keep you hooked till its
finally.
ENDING SCORE: 9.8/10
